CHS Alternativo is a nongovernmental human rights organization founded in 2001.

It is specialized in dealing with the problem of human trafficking and its relation to two other social problems which increase the vulnerability of victims or populations at risk of becoming victims of this crime: human smuggling and missing persons.

WNY Man Charged with Sex Trafficking of Minors

According to the criminal complaint, between 2010 and August 2012, Graham recruited, promoted and profited from the prostitution activities of two minor girls knowing - or in reckless disregard of the fact - that the girls were under the age of 18. Graham also recruited, promoted and profited from a third victim, a woman in her 20s.

Japan’s fight against modern-day sex slavery hurt by backward attitude

According to the “Trafficking in Persons Report 2012,” Japan was rated a Tier 2 country. This means, “The Government of Japan does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; however, it is making significant efforts to do so.” After 8 years of a Tier 2 rating, its “significant efforts” seem to be falling short.

Human traffickers could be forced to hand over profits made off victims
